Aquatic Facilities and Pools

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) operates indoor pools and aquatic facilities across the District throughout the year. During summer 2009, DPR will operate outdoor pools, outdoor children’s pools, and spray parks.

Outdoor Pools: DPR’s outdoor pools will be open on weekends only from May 23 to June 7, 2009. Beginning June 13, pools will be open daily. All pools close one weekday each week for scheduled service and maintenance.

Outdoor Children’s Pools: DPR’s outdoor children’s pools will be open Monday to Friday, 1 to 5 pm, from June 15 through August 21. Children’s pools are small developmental pools which range in depths from one to three feet, and are designed for children up to 12 years old.

Spray Parks: DPR’s spray parks will be open Monday to Friday 11 am to 7 pm and Saturday 11 am to 4 pm, from June 15 through August 22. Spray parks are closed on Sundays and 2 to 3 pm each weekday for service.
