Aquatic Facilities and Pools

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) operates aquatic facilities across the District throughout the year.  Indoor pools and aquatic facilities are open year-round.  During summer 2008, DPR will operate large and small outdoor pools, Walk-to-Learn pools, and spray parks.

Large Outdoor Pools: DPR will operate large outdoor pools on weekends only, from May 24 to June 15, 2008.  Beginning Monday, June 16, all pools will be open daily; all pools will close one weekday each week for service and maintenance.

Walk-to-Learn Pools: Small developmental pools that range in depths from one to three feet, designed for children up to 12 years old, will be open Monday through Friday, 1 - 5 pm, beginning Monday, June 16, until Friday, August 8.

Spray Parks: Spray parks will be open Monday, June 16, until Friday, August 15.  Spray parks will be closed on Sundays and from 2 - 3 pm each weekday for service.

Through the support of Amerigroup’s “DC Swims Free Program,” there will be no pool fees for DC residents in 2008; fees for non-residents are available on the DPR website links below.
